Central Bhutan Bumtang Trek

Trip Profile:
Trek Grade: Easy to Moderate.
Maximum Altitude: 3353m/11000ft.
Maximum Camp Altitude: 3000m/9845ft.
Best Season: March, April, May, September, October & November.

This three day trek is perfect for average walkers as the altitude does not go over 3,400 meters (11,155 feet). The four valleys of Bumthang, is revered by the Bhutanese as the sacred land of Bhutan with many important Nyingmapa saints coming from here including the famous Pema Lingpa. The trek crosses several villages and wends through the picturesque Bumthang countryside, giving an exceptional opportunity to be in contact with countryside life. This trek is best done from October to May.

Itinerary - In-Style
Day 01: ARRIVE BHUTAN - Visit Museum and Paro Town. Afternoon drive to Thimpu. Hotel. Flights are also available from Kathmandu and New Delhi
Day 02: THIMPU SIGHTSEEING Full day sightseeing in Thimpu. Hotel.
Day 03: THIMPU - TRONGSA Drive Thimpu to Trongsa. Hotel.
Day 04: TRONGSA - BUMTHANG Drive Trongsa to Bumthang. Hotel.
Day 05: BUMTHANG VALLEY SIGHTSEEING Full day sightseeing of Bumthang valley. Hotel.
Day 06-08: BUMTHANG CULTURAL TREKKING Start trek to Nanglakhang. Continue trek to Ugencholing. End trek at Mambertsho Lake. Drive to Jakar. Camps/Hotel.
Day 09: BUMTHANG - PUNAKHA Drive Bumthang to Pukakha. Hotel.
Day 10: THIMPU - PARO Drive to Thimpu and Paro. Hotel.
Day 11: PARO SIGHTSEEING Paro valley sightseeing and hike to Taksang - Tiger's Nest. Hotel.
Day 12: DEPARTURE FROM BHUTAN Fly from Paro to Bangkok, Kathmandu or New Delhi. End of Bumthang valley cultural trek in Bhutan.
