A journey to Kanchenjunga, the worlds third highest mountain is a special treat. From the tropical lowlands, through great forests and lovely villages up to the glaciers and panoramic views, this is an adventure that will stay with you forever.

Kathmandu, Biratnagar to Gunsa
After exploring Kathmandu on a guided tour and a Welcome Dinner at one of our finest Nepali restaurants, take a scenic flight to Biratnagar and drive to the trailhead at Phidim. Walk along the beautiful Tama River with its white sandy banks and pale blue-grey waters, straight from the Kanchenjunga Glacier. As we near our objective, Kanchenjunga, straddling the Nepal- Sikkim/Tibet border, walk through lush farmlands and up into the great bamboo forests.

Gunsa & Kambachen, Kanchenjunga Base Camp
In the shadow of Mount Jannu, cross alpine meadows and deep gorges to reach Kambachen, with its yak pastures and flocks of blue sheep grazing on the sheer cliffs. Travel through the Tama Kosi watershed, rest at Pangpema, a natural mountain amphitheatre then take an excursion to Kanchenjunga Base Camp and its Ice fall. The panorama of Kanchenjunga, Jannu, Ramtang, Pathi Bara Lang Po and Nepal Peak is magnificent, together with the awe-inspiring Kanchenjunga Hanging Glacier. After crossing several high passes, marvelling at the natural beauty, take a circular route down to the small airport of Taplejung. Return to the delights of Kathmandu via Biratnagar.
